Ape Escape on the Loose Review:

Ape Escape is a kid game. I feel that it would be exciting for children 12 and under. I am 13 and its okay. It's not the best but it's not the worst. In this game you travel to different lands to try to stop Specter from changing the world. Specter, Spike and Spikes friend Jake got sucked into a time machine at The Professors lab along with a bunch of the Pipo Monkeys. Specter, the head monkey, gained power when he put on a Peak Helmet created by The Professor. Spike's job is to go around he lands and capture all of the monkeys.

Game Play: This game is easy to pick up and learn. This game has fun but pretty easy puzzles. If you are looking for an adventure game with puzzles, this is the game for you. There are gadgets that you use in this game that helps you complete different puzzles. There are over 200 monkeys you have to capture! This game will last you a while. There are also mini- games such as: Ping Pong, Snowboarding, and Boxing and Jake Attack races. They are even available in multiplayer (Ad- Hoc only)!

Graphics: The graphics are pretty good in this game. It is a little better than the PS1 but not as good as the PS2. The graphics are okay. The graphics are what you'd expect for a handheld.

Sound: The sound can get annoying at times. It basically plays the same stuff over and over again. It gets boring really fast. I play it with my sound off because of it. It is kind of like nature music but without the animals and the birds. The sound is old and repetitive. I personally dislike the music but you may have other opinions.

Learning Curve: This game is easy to pick up and learn. It took me only like 20 minutes to learn how to play. It has tutorials on how to use the gadgets along with training levels. It even has help boxes that pop up and give you little hints. This makes the game even easier! If you are looking for a challenging game then this isn't the game for you. This game is geared toward younger kids who can't play games that well so it has help pop-ups.

Overall: Overall this game is an easy but fun kiddy game. It is very easy but it can get a little difficult at times. I would recommend this game to the younger gamers (12 and under). If you like kiddy games then you will enjoy this game. It's not horrible but it is okay. I just don't like it because it is a little too kiddy for me. Other than that, the game is really fun and it has excellent replay value. It will take you a while to beat the game 100% but that's okay. It makes the fun last longer. The final results of the game are:

Game Play: 8

Graphics: 7

Sound: 4

Learning Curve: 8

Overall: 7
